Our Story

Where Exceptional Coffee and Community Impact Grow Together
Just outside the village of Khikhi, Uganda, the owners of Riziki Cafe operate a vibrant coffee farm that is transforming both the land and the lives of the people who cultivate it. The farm is home to over 3,000 thriving coffee plants, grown with care by a dedicated team of farmers who take pride in every harvest.
At least 50% of the farm’s workforce is women, creating meaningful, sustainable employment opportunities that strengthen families and elevate the entire village. By investing in women-led agricultural work, the farm helps build long-term stability, education, and economic independence for local households.
Every bean grown here supports more than just great coffee—it supports real families, real jobs, and a community working toward a brighter future. When you enjoy a cup from Riziki Cafe, you’re tasting coffee with purpose
💛 Treasure’s Story
Hope, Healing, and a Future Rewritten

In the village just below our coffee farm in Khikhi, Uganda, lives a remarkable young girl named Treasure. For most of her childhood, Treasure faced challenges no child should have to endure. She had a severe condition that left her unable to walk properly; she moved on her ankles and relied on a cane for every step. With limited access to medical care, her future looked painfully uncertain.
But hope has a way of finding its way into the hardest places.
In 2024, team members from Riziki Cafe decided to run the Pittsburgh Marathon with a purpose: to raise funds for the life‑changing surgery Treasure desperately needed. Their effort—and the generosity of those who supported them—made the impossible possible.
In January, Treasure traveled nine hours by bus to reach the hospital where she would undergo surgery. What followed were months of castings, physical therapy, and determination. And today, Treasure can walk on her own—unassisted. A milestone that once felt out of reach is now her everyday reality.
This February, Treasure will take another huge step:
She will start school for the very first time since her surgery..
Throughout her healing journey, Treasure has been lovingly cared for by Mary, a close friend of the Riziki Cafe family. With Treasure’s mother bedridden and unable to provide daily care, Mary has opened her home and her heart, ensuring Treasure has stability, safety, and support.
Treasure’s story is a living reminder of what happens when compassion meets action.
It’s the kind of difference Riziki Café strives to make—one life, one family, one community at a time.
